 Like most young African-American men of
his generation, Mr. Niles grew up living, learning and loving hip -hop
culture. The energy of this youth driven movement was a magnetic force
beckoning him forth and embracing him as a natural contender. He could
feel that this is where he belonged. So Niles accepted his calling and
all of the challenges that it would bring.
He began to infiltrate the hip-hop scene
as a sixth grader whose DJ skills were so tight that he built a
reputation that bellied his young age and had house parties packed door
to door by the time he was thirteen. Niles began to eat drink, and sleep
the nightlife and games of ATL players. His dreams of becoming a
superstar DJ were put on hold, as survival became priority one. After
years of hustling on the streets and one to many brushes with the law he
decided to seek solace and solitude in Columbus, GA.
Maturity and lessons learned, Niles watched
other MC's rock the mike & control the crowds with street stories
similar to his own while making millions. He became motivated, focused
and began to make plans that would make his dream a reality.
Niles found his first taste of success
with UPT as the lead off lyricist of this hip-hop outfit. He caught the
eye and ear of Executive T.C. Payton, Raw Deal Records, executive
producer who made an offer for Niles guest spot on Raw Deal artist
Wendell Brown's single Sing A Song For You. The collaboration between
T.C. and Mr. Niles paved the way for a new relationship and his first
solo album entitled Game, Money and Intelligence, Episode One.
Now with the opportunity to show his
lyrical dexterity on such topics as self-educated brothers, money
politics, relationships, gettin' yours, the streets and it denizens,
this album runs the gauntlet on many of the things facing Urban America
in the year 2000. Niles first single released from the album is titled
Don't Hate. The second single What Cha Want Playa features Pastor Troy.
The album simply titled Off Da Hinges promises to be a very powerful
lyrical assault from Mr. Niles.
